Chinese-American Friendship Dinners

Click the picture for large view. | | Our monthly "Chinese-American Friendship Dinners" are our main regular activity. These are usually on the second Saturday of each month (although we sometimes have them on the first Saturday of the month to avoid schedule conflicts). Usually 125 to 225 people participate.
We start with a "potluck" dinner. This means that if you are able, bring some item of food to share with others, something for at least 8 people. This way everyone can enjoy some authentic American and Chinese food.
Then we have an enjoyable program that includes singing in English and in Chinese, people sharing from their lives, a short speech, and discussion time.
We also have two children’s programs available during adult’s program-one for kids up to age 8 and one for kids ages 9 - 12.
This is a great place to get to know people, learn, and have fun! Come join us whenever you can!
Where: We meet at 601 13th Ave SE, Minneapolis, MN 55414 in the Dinkytown area of campus. Parking is available behind the building on 7th St. SE. (When driving, take 35W to University Ave. exit. Turn on University Ave. and make your first left on 10th Ave. SE. Go 4 blocks to 7th St. SE and turn right. Go 2.5 blocks and turn right into the parking lot.)
When: Usually the second Saturday of every month except July. See Upcoming Activities for specific dates.
Time: From 6:30 to 9:00 PM
To Go: It really helps in planning and setting up to know who is coming in advance. For
each dinner, whether you are Chinese or American, please email Glenn Kenadjian at
and say who will be coming. Also, for Chinese students and scholars, let him know if you need a ride.
